Fatal Crash in Candler

On Monday afternoon, a fatal crash in Candler took the life of 15-year-old Christopher Taylor. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the one-car collision happened at Reeves Cove Road. Law enforcement officials report that the driver, another teen, lost control of the vehicle, over corrected and then struck a tree. Taylor was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries. No charges have been filed, but the wreck remains under investigation.

Taylor was a football player at Enka High School, and had attended a practice session earlier in the day. He was going to start his sophomore school year this fall. The school district will be providing crisis support personal and counseling services for any students or staff members that request them.
