Last week, there was a crash involving two tractor-trailers in Henderson County. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the wreck happened on Interstate 26, near mile marker 57, near the Henderson and Polk County line. Very few details about this semi truck crash have been released, but we do know that one 18-wheeler struck another big rig. Initial reports indicate that a third commercial vehicle is believed to have pulled onto the interstate from the emergency lane, causing the other two trucks to collide.

Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported on the scene. Tow trucks and crews were called to the scene to clear the roadway and get the lane reopened for traffic. On Friday morning, there was a semi truck crash on Interstate 240 near downtown Asheville. According to WLOS ABC News Channel 13, the incident happened near Mile Marker Three, sometime around 2:45 a.m. Very few details about this tractor trailer crash have been released, but we do know that the large commercial truck overturned near Jackson’s curve by Jackson’s Western Store on Patton Avenue. A portion of the roadway had to be closed until about 10:00 a.m. Initial reports indicate that the truck was hauling 2-ethylhexyl phthalate, which is a chemical used to make plastics.

Tractor Trailer Crash Near Downtown Asheville

First responders diverted traffic onto Patton Avenue as crews worked the scene. Morning commuters had to deal with delays in the area until well into the morning. Thankfully, none of the chemicals were spilled onto the road during the crash. Additionally, no injuries were reported on the scene. There has been no word on why the truck overturned or what happened prior to the crash. The crash is likely still under investigation, and the truck driver may be facing citations.

Very few details about this truck crash have been released, but we do know that the truck went over an embankment. All eastbound lanes had to be closed as first responders and crews worked the scene. There has been no word on the cause of the crash or if anybody was injured. This tractor-trailer crash could still be under investigation with local law enforcement authorities.
